COMMENTS FROM CLASS MEMBERS
GAIL NEIRA - This national
economic turmoil will, inevitably, cause even the most customer-accommodating
corporate businesses and conglomerates to cut corners and hope that most people
are too naïve, gullible or feel too helpless or too busy to fight back. Law
firms as yours and others should remain diligent with a national network of
intelligently and verbally coherent and articulate consumers to facilitate the
expedience and efficiency of legal resolutions. Cases take longer to resolve
when clients lack intellectual clarity and are inarticulate or too greedy. It is
apparent that we consumers can no longer rely on corporate giants and political
bureaucrats, nor all those nonprofit status political sell-outs to protect the
interests of the average consumer whose monies supports everything, and getting
less in terms of personal benefits.
I foresee a stronger reliance and bond between consumers, who can identify
their common grievances and expand their network, and law firms who are expert
in coalescing consumer individuals into a group effort. My personal gripe
in many class action suits is that they are pursued by formally organized or ad
hoc groups with specific political agendas to merely retaliate, blackmail,
extort and cripple, instead of just seeking basic fair solutions, like the ACLU,
Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow Coalition and all those power hungry groups. This
problem with JTV was a justifiable issue to remedy and the compensation demands
and solutions are fair for us, as consumers, and yet will not cripple, nor
disrupt JTV’s continued business.
